I moved to the city the October after graduation and to either my bank accounts credit or my own, I have experienced a lot here. I don't promise innovation with these reccomendations but I do promise fun.
People in Chicago talk about the weather painfully too often, myself included. We have an obscenely long winter and then a split second of summer where the whole city comes alive. I do believe however it makes you appreciate the warm weather much more when it does finally come around. And if you’d like to know how I’m indluging in the sun- currently writing this with a glass of Kim Crawford, on the patio at Bellevue with a mini skirt and tank top on because what else is there to do at this age!?
Take what you need, skip what you don't but please don't waste a single second celebrating.
This is in no particular order this is just where I love to drag my friends and rightfully so.
Go to Middle Brow, sit on a bench outside and split pizza, wine and beer with friends
Thrift a slip dress, grab wire headphones, and go on a walk. Activewear is chic but so is a tiny lace slip dress at 9am getting coffee
Wake up early and run on the lakefront path, it's just really good
Walk around Past Studies and Outfit Repeater
They have gorgeous selections of designer vintage
Listen to Mr Jones by Counting Crows in the car with your friends
Rent a house with a big group in New Buffalo, Michigan

Split the blueberry pancakes at The Allis (the bottom of Soho)
Speaking of Soho sneak your way up to the pool just once
Learn to play euchre
Do an activity like 6am sunrise pilates or saturday run club. I went and I understood the meaning of true health and wellness for one hour.
Go to the Green City Farmers Market and and enjoy luxe grocery culture
I want to do my own substack on this but I have a deep love for the recent emergence of boutique gourmet grocery shopping.
Buy a film camera, please, if I can convince you to do one thing from this.
Go to Nettare for brunch, their breakfast sandwich is amazing
Host a themed party at your apartment: girls and boys love nothing more than a house party trust me
Fake a birthday at a restaurant
Stay out past 3am, wake up and go to a Sweat Sessions class. I did that once, key word once.
But we can do hard things!!!!
Wear jorts and a mini lace top with flip flops
Surprise your grandma or mom with flowers, the ones at Trader joes are $6, imagine making someone's day for less than the cost of eggs girl

Compliment your barista’s outfit, my favorite coffee is currently the dark roast coldbrew at Coffee Lab in Lakeview
Wear something that’s ever so slightly see through
Heard its good for you
Post something kinda tea to your instagram story because there's nothing quite like the dopamine from likes and shares baby
And then go on a run after you do it because the anxiety and adrenaline I get from posting could be studied
Find a playlist or song from when you were nineteen and listen to it
I love nostalgia and listening to music from different eras of my life is such a sweet form of reflection
Tell your friend that you never hug or express affection to- probably your best friend. how much you appreciate them.
